Alvin Nunley, III, Director of Marketing

Mr. Nunley for the past fifteen years has served as president and general manager of companies serving a wide variety of markets and customers, providing him with a vast knowledge of markets ranging from consumer and professional electronics to automotive and federal government agencies. Mr. Nunley has directed numerous product development programs which have resulted in many successful new product launches. In addition, he has many years of marketing experience including market research, product line positioning, print and TV advertising, and public relations.

As General Manager of AC Services, 2003 to 2010, he secured contracts with the US Department of Defense (DOD) for database and website design, maintaining secure Web-based servers, and help desk support. In addition, Mr. Nunley initiated a third-party inspection enterprise serving the Southeast automotive industry.

In 1997, he launched Quantum Technologies Inc. in Huntsville and developed this audio and video company into a leadership position with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) in Federal Courtroom technology systems integration and installation. He expanded the company into commercial and institutional audio and video design and installation, developed distance learning and video conferencing systems, and created the Hear Technology brand of professional audio equipment.

From 1979 to 1996, Mr. Nunley held various positions with Techsonic Industries, makers of the Humminbird brand of marine electronics. As General Manager of Techsonic, he led the company to a market leadership position and implemented a diversification plan including the formation of a new business unit utilizing GPS technology to provide precision timing for digital communication (cellular) equipment. As Vice-President of Marketing and Product Development, Mr. Nunley directed new product development utilizing extensive market research and technology trend analysis. This market driven approach and product management methodology resulted in a 700% sales growth within two years.

Prior to his work at Techsonic, Mr. Nunley was employed at Texas Instruments in Dallas as a Design and Project Engineer on DOD anti-submarine warfare (ASW) programs and later as a Product Marketing Manager in TI’s semi-conductor group.
